The streetcar entered Baker Street from the south at Stanley Street - a prominent intersection historically associated with banks and department stores. The current building on the north-east corner (the Royal Bank) is probably the 3rd structure to inhabit that property. The original wooden building was replaced by a 2 storey brick structure (shown in the photo below, at centre) sometime around 1900, which appears to have been used as a retail store for many years. By the 1920's, the corner facade had been rebuilt with a solid looking stone facing, presumably to accommodate the the Royal Bank which had by then become the main tenant. This design then remained until the building was replaced by a single-storey structure in the 1960's or early 1970's.
Many photographs were used as a reference to recreate 401 Baker Street as a computer model, as shown below, which was made using the software program Blender. The building model has been finished to a preliminary level of detail pending evaluation of forms, textures, and details, which will be done as part of a larger collection within the Unity3D project map.
